11 instrumental tracks, two covers, “Suite Modale” by Ernest Bloch and “I Still Have That Other Girl” by Burt Bacharach: the new amazing Paul Gilbert’s album.

It’s enough to understand that PG in his latest work has decided to explore new lands and amaze listeners and faithful fans.

In fact, starting from its cover, the two songs are really very special and intense. Modal suite was a pleasant surprise with PG that duet with his wife Emi with a really perfect sound and a very well-use of e-bow.

The disc begins with the powerful title track, melodic and enthralling at the same time, with the violin Bow used to make the “Roar”. Then Eudaimonia Overture with references to Bach and an extraordinary intro.

“The Rhino” again and very fast register shred as “Norwegian Cowbell”. In both songs really affects the choice of the sounds of PG always “his” but nicely varied in rhythmic and alone.

We come to “I Can not Tell a Lie”, which I consider the song that is worth the price of the CD. Never as in this song I heard a PG so inspired and melodic, with powerful bending always played at the right place at the right time to give the maximum emphasis for the melody of the song. Truly a gem, a new perspective from which to admire the extraordinary talent and “mature” art by Paul Gilbert.

The Gargoyle also excellent, really pressing, as well as “Bultaco Saturno” and the amusing “Paul Vs Godzilla” (the other two titles of rare creativity) in the final.

In this work of PG I was really impressed with the renewed creative inspiration and the ability to get involved with other pieces of “abstractions” as I was really impressed the ability to always be present (a rock in the mix) with a sound built in a very simple (few amp + environment effects).

Sign that the sound is really in the hands, head and heart of every guitar player, especially to Mr. Paul Gilbert.
